The architectural firm MSTSD, Inc. of Atlanta,
Georgia required a 51-foot diameter by 25-foot
high mall entrance cover which doubled as an
entertainment pavilion for social events and
promotions. The protective dome canopy also had
to compliment the mall’s coastal and marshland
theme for both day and night use.
Eide Industries, Inc. was able to accommodate
the design and fabrication requirements for the
new Coastal Grand Mall (also known as the
Mall of South Carolina) in Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina. The white powder coat painted canopy
frame is engineered to withstand 150MPH Exposure
“D” windloads. The fabric cover is made with
9.25oz Sunbrella Firesist® 8604 Natural fabric
color with Tenara® thread. The edges of the
fabric cover are tensioned with 20,000 pound
webbing attached to threaded adjustable steel
tension plates.
