PROJECT SUMMARY

The Bear Education Awareness Research Sanctuary (BEARS) at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Girdwood, Alaska provides an elevated platform where visitors can experience up close encounters with the local wildlife. The fabric canopies are well framed to sustain the heavy snow loads, yet still provide some light transmission for a lightweight feel. The canopies were erected in June 2014 and the total construction effort is scheduled to wrap up right after.
