In October 2006, the Saddle Ranch Chop House
Restaurant and Night Club tension structure
was completed by Eide Industries at the
Universal City Walk in Universal City,
California in partnership with Sark Custom
Awnings. The project covers 5,000 square feet
and is supported by one 30” diameter galvanized
steel mast which was extended 10 feet higher
than the original canopy. The engineered designs
called for thirteen tensioned cables to support
the single-mast by attaching to surrounding
structures at strategic points. Flame-resistant
Ferrari Textiles fabric (Ferrari 1002S) was then
fastened to the cables and around the perimeter
with 1-5/8” lace bar. The majority of the
installation took place in the parking lot. The
structure was then lifted via crane over the
restaurant and into place on their respective
connecting points. |
