PROJECT SUMMARY
The Illumina Corporate Headquarters are located just off the 805 freeway in San Diego. The new construction has an attached 6 level parking garage. To soften the look of the parking garage, a PVC mesh tensile façade was used to create a grid pattern that mimicked the building construction. Although the fabric is printable, it was decided to use two different colors available from Serge Ferrari and cut and seal them together to form the desired shapes.
With the 28% porosity of the fabric, it helps visibility from inside out but nearly blocks any visibility from the outside in. Facid 65 frame components were used for fabric attachment. With this patented technology, installation is quick and easy and the finished edges and corners of the system are clean and sharp.
