The City of Mesa required a PTFE membrane to be fabricated and installed onto frame structures to complete the centerpiece of the West Mesa Park and Ride public parking lot. The three (3) fabric canopies were designed to overlap each other, so MPanel was utilized to ensure the shade structures did not intersect at the overlapping points. Deviations from the architect’s proposed design were taken into consideration due to the curvature of the catenary cables and tensioning hardware at all membrane corners. Eide Industries, Inc. successfully completed the project with minimal issues to meet the architect’s concept and exceed the client’s expectations with minimal turnbuckles and maximum shade coverage.
