PROJECT SUMMARY
A.R. Chesson Construction contacted Tension Structures to design-build a tensile shade structure to compliment The Soundside Outer Banks Events site in Nags Head, NC. The Soundside site is utilized by the local community for weddings, festivals, fairs and events offering a remarkable venue with beautiful sunsets, wide open spaces and a scenic view of the Roanoke sound. The tension structure was built with extremely strong members and components engineered for 130 MPH hurricane wind loads. A three part epoxy paint covers the robust frame to ensure the salt water does not corrode this ocean front drop off canopy. Stainless steel cables and a heavy-duty Serge Ferrari PVC membrane fabrics simultaneously provide high strength and elegant charm.
