Design
Every great tension structure starts in the design studio before construction ever takes place. Our team of experts will consult with you. From that idea, we come up with the look that you seek. It takes a keen eye and years of experience to carefully balance the functionality of the tension structure with the unique aesthetic each client is after.
Tensile architecture requires a design strategy involving a wide variety of shapes, materials, and tensioning decisions. We offer anything from design assistance to full design specs. Your business will have what it desires. We pride ourselves in the quality of our renderings. You will see the initial designs in 3D. You’ll have every angle covered before making your decision.
Engineering
The next service we offer comes right after the design stage: engineering. Our engineers take the initial renderings and create ways to make sure they are up to strict safety regulations. Think about the property where you’re looking to build your tension structure. Does it rain excessively? How about snow? Wind? We consider the geography and climate of your location. Your tension structures will need to have the right combination of materials and anchor points to withstand the elements.
We use a Finite Element Analysis to determine the reaction forces of the structure. We simulate loads such as the wind, gravity, and pretension of cables. You’ll have the peace of mind that your structure can withstand Mother Nature. Our engineers are some of the best in the industry. We comply with permitting authorities, so that you don’t have to lift a finger.
Manufacturing
Once the designs are finished, and the engineering team has had its turn, it’s time for manufacturing to begin. Once again, this is a service that we offer in-house. Working with us, you have access to our 41,000 square foot manufacturing facility, which means there’s virtually no size or weight limit that we won’t be able to build for you.
Our facility takes care of everything from the manufacturing of the parts to welding individual pieces together and packaging them for the client. Even if you didn’t work with our design or engineering teams, we’re happy to build the design of your dreams, regardless of complexity.
Installation
At the end of the whole process comes the installation. Our team carefully handles each package at your location and skillfully assembles the new tension structure to meet your exact specifications. This can mean we install on the side of buildings, over stadium seating, and anywhere else you can think of. Our team is at your disposal.
We use a combination of cranes, construction forklifts, booms, zoomers, and scissor lifts to make this happen. It takes countless hours of planning and safety briefs to ensure that every piece fits together flawlessly. There’s a lot of trust that comes with being in the industry for 70+ years.
